Match Preview: Cardiff City vs Stoke City

The Potters will look to collect 3 points when they visit The Cardiff City Stadium to ease relegation fears.

Surprise! Stoke have lost again. Of course, this is becoming almost a weekly tradition.

However, I don’t think that was a performance that warranted a loss. The Potters just couldn’t find the back of the net but there were some bright sparks in that performance.

Attention now turns to a 14th-placed Cardiff side who are winless in four. Let's hope The Potters make it 5.

Here’s everything you need to know about The Potter’s upcoming game against The Bluebirds...

Ricky Martin’s Sacking and Team News

It's safe to say that Technical Director Ricky Martin won’t be livin la vida loca this week as the club has announced his sacking.

This an excellent decision by the board which has come under rightful criticism as of late. Club legend Jonathan Walters will take Martins's spot whilst the club looks for a suitable replacement.

Martin’s reign was nothing short of terrible. During his spell, he has brought in some absolutely dross players.

However, could this not have been avoided? Martin came in when Alex Neil was appointed and had previously worked under Neil.

So. The board appointed a technical director and decided It should be Alex Neil's mate. Excellent. Yet we wonder why we find ourselves 3 points off the relegation zone.

Good luck to Jonathan Walters though who has a very difficult job ahead of him.

The Potters are looking good on the injury front apart from Luke McNally who will be out 2-3 weeks with a thigh injury. Daniel Iversen will be available for Saturday's game after sustaining a dead leg last week.

Playtime and fitness are a big driving force behind Schumacher's plans at Stoke. With many players being dropped to the Under 21’s such as Tyrese Campbell and Andre Vidigal. The aim is to get “them up to speed” as Schumacher stated in a recent interview.

Predicted XI vs Cardiff City:

(GK) Iversen, Hoever, Rose, Wilmot, Thompson, Burger, Baker, Cundle Junho, Ennis, Manhoef

Harrison’s Prediction

The Potters need to start putting some results together and it could finally start this Saturday.

Although the loss against Coventry was disappointing, I saw enough positives to suggest that Schumacher’s plan is slowly coming together.

If we can tighten up at the back and be more ruthless in front of goal Cardiff will be in for a long night.

Niall Ennis is showing some promising signs upfront so far and I can see him getting his second goal for Stoke this Saturday.

MY PREDICTION: CARDIFF CITY 1 – 2 STOKE CITY
