Match Preview: Preston vs Stoke City

The Potters are back in action and will travel to the Deepdale Stadium to face a promotion-chasing Preston side.

Another loss! What would never have been on the minds of Stoke City fans is now becoming more of a possibility. Relegation.

With Sheffield Wednesday and QPR picking up points during the week it's important The Potters pick up points to avoid getting stuck in the relegation zone.

Here’s everything you need to know about The Potter’s upcoming games against The Lilywhites…

Team News and Manager Insight

Steven Schumacher expects Preston to be “a huge test” due to Preston’s “physicality, organisation and ability from set pieces.”

However, despite it being a tough game Schumacher insists the players “are ready for the fight” and The Potters need to “focus on the next game and not get too carried away by the league position.”

Enda Stevens and Luke McNally are back in training but won’t be back in action till next week. Despite Stevens and McNally the rest of the squad is fit and ready after Tuesday night’s game.

Pearson will also be out after picking up a red after seeing two yellow cards against Leeds.

Predicted XI vs Preston:

(GK) Iversen, Hoever, Rose, Wilmot, Gooch, Baker, Burger, Laurent,  Junho, Manhoef, Ennis

Harrison’s Prediction

As a lifelong football Stoke City fan I am praying we get a win this Saturday but this will be a challenging fixture.

Preston are unbeaten in seven and is closing the gap on the top six. Therefore because of Preston’s position I am expecting them to come out all guns blazing.

With our defence being our biggest in recent games I am expecting it to cause us problems again.

MY PREDICTION: PRESTON 1 – 1 STOKE CITY
